The tails are part of the lids and the heads are part of the bowls. They have their legs tucked into their shells and the bottoms are formed to look exactly like a turtle's belly. These great ceramic bowls are a fantastic conversation starter at any dinner table! There is one extra Lid, for a total of eleven (11) pieces.

$250.00Whirling Dervish Ceremony Five (5) Piece Set by Yildiz Imperial Porcelain, Turkey. Included are three Dancers, one flutist and one drummer. They are all beautifully matte white. Sufi whirling is a form of Sama or physically active mediation which originated among Sufis and which is still practiced by the Sufi Dervishes of the Mevlevi order. It is a customary dance performed within the Sema, or worship ceremony, through which dervishes (also called semazens) aim to reach the source of all perfection, or kemal.

$250.00Wonderful handpainted American Belleek tankard pitcher. The mark dates it to 1894-1906 (possibly 1889) and was used by the Ceramic Art Company which later became Lenox. The motif is grapes and leaves. Lovely shades of green and muted tones on the bluish-purple grapes.
$95.00Beautiful glass fingerbowl by Hobbs, Brockunier & Company. This late 19th century piece is in their pattern (No. 323) called Dew Drop (originally Nodule) which is now called Hobnail. The color is clear with a layer of ruby glass applied near the top and is called Rubina.
